Ugezu J Ugezu Says Anyone Teaching You That Igbos Sidelined Their Women Is Distorting History.
Filmmaker cum actor Ugezu J Ugezu has educated us on women being relevant in the Igboland saying anyone teaching that Igbos sidelined their women is distorting history.
Most African countries are known to have sidelined their women and some are still doing that but Ugezu J Ugezu has defended the Igbos saying they have never sidelined their women so anyone teaching otherwise is distorting history.
According to him, even before western countries woke up and started to recognize their women as a core part of the labor force, the Igbo ancestors had already figured out how to make their women politically relevant through the revered UmuAda and UmuOkpu.
Therefore, anyone teaching that Igbos sidelined their women is distorting history and is teaching nonsense because women had always been very powerful when it comes to the Igbos but didn’t say for the other tribes.
Those who know about this agreed with Ugezu J Ugezu while commenting on it that Igbo women have always been powerful and part of the core labor force through the revered UmuAda and UmuOkpu which we can’t tell if it’s still in place or not.
