Housemaid Flees With Her Madam’s Two Year Old Son In Lagos State.
A family in Lagos state started looking for their two-year-old boy, Praise Otojareri, who was allegedly abducted by their house maid, simply called as Favour.
Mr. Moses Otojareri, the missing boy’s father, explain that sometime in November, a man his wife knew came to their house in Aguda, Surulere, with two girls and said they needed a job. He said his wife, who runs a salon, decided to hire Favour to look after their two children, a nine-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son.
His wife, two children, and Favor left for church on December 19, he said. His wife, a hairdresser, received a call from a customer who needed her at her store while he was in church, he claimed. His wife left the church and told Favour to come to the shop with their two children once the ceremony ended, he claimed.
Favor went to the children’s church right after his wife departed, Mr. Otojareri claimed, and begged the teachers to release Praise to her. Praise was given to Favor by the teacher who had observed the baby boy come to church with his mother. After waiting for hours and not seeing them in her shop, the father said his wife became concerned.
”After some hours, a call came in asking ”Are you Mummy Favour and Praise?’ She said Favour is her housemaid and Praise is her son and that she has been looking for them for some hours now. The man said they are at Ibafor in Mowe and that Favour said she missed her way that she was going to her sister’s house in Ikotun. ”he said
Mr. Otojareri claims that his wife informed the adults who came to assist her in holding Favour and her son that she was on her way to meet with them. After the grownups reminded him that they were still traveling a long distance, he stated his wife requested that they drop Favour and her son Praise off at the nearest police station.
”By this time some people had gathered saying they wanted to beat Favour up as they suspected it was a case of kidnapping. However, an Alfa came in and asked them not to beat her.
The Alfa said he was going to take the children to the mosque with him. He collected my wife’s number and called her to inform her that he has taken favour and my child to the mosque.
While they were heading to the mosque, the Alfa said Favour told him that she was going to Ikotun to go and see her sister”
According to the upset father, Alfa brought the children to a mosque and then decided to pray. He claimed that the Alfa subsequently told his wife that after his prayers, he returned to his mosque and did not see Favor and Praise. He claimed he only saw Favour’s bag, which contained Praises’ clothes.
Mr. Otokareri claimed that when his wife arrived at the mosque, she raised an alarm and contacted the police. Alfa was apprehended. She also took the cops to the sister’s house, which Favor stated she was going to see. The sister, who denied having any family ties to Favour, was also detained.
He added that the case had been reported to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department and that no word from Favour or his son had been received as of today. Favour, who is roughly 14 years old, speaks Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Benue Republic proficiently, according to him. He stated that Favour is from the state of Imo.
He asked anyone with knowledge about his child’s whereabouts to call this number: 07082873611 or contact the local police station.
