Popular Nigerian artist and the boss of the 30 Billion gang, Davido has disclosed how his famous song ‘FEM’ almost got him into trouble.
FEM is a track on Davido’s album ‘A Better Time’ which was one of the most popular songs on his album. During an interview with French Fashion Magazine, L’officiel, he disclosed that the song gained massive attention after a random person played the song at a rally.
This occurred during the END SARS protest which took over the whole of Nigeria for weeks. Davido disclosed that the government officials were addressing the protestors during the protest when a random person just played his FEM track to interrupt the official.
In his words, “The record’s already gone, it was huge already. Then there was a little rally where this government official was speaking to the people and then somebody played the song.
He added, “They played the song, everybody’s singing. He’s trying to talk, but everybody is singing the song instead. Then somebody got the video and it just went crazy. From there, it became the anthem of the whole– I almost got in trouble. I was like, ‘Yo, I did record that song, but It was nice to see them use a song of mine to be instrumental in how they felt”.
