Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has explained that the club’s new signing, Diogo Jota, will never forget his Anfield debut after scoring a goal in the Reds 3-1 win against Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday night.
Jota, who joined Liverpool from Wolves earlier this month, netted a late goal for the Premier League champions to give Klopp’s side all three points against the Gunners.
Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson did score for Liverpool as Alexandre Lacazette’s strike was not enough to give Mikel Arteta’s side a point against the host.
But Klopp was full of praise for Jota after the game and said the Portugal international would need more time to adjust to how Liverpool operate.
“Diogo came on, played his natural football, tried to defend the way we defend, and he’s only on about 20 percent of information for what we do exactly,” Klopp said at his post-match press conference.
“We had team meetings to talk about it, but it will take time.
“Today he had like 60 or 70 minutes time to watch how Sadio is doing it, and he came on the pitch and played incredibly well.
“He scored a super goal, nice first game at Anfield. So he will never forget that, and I will never forget it, so a cool start.”
