Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Thursday June 11, demanded the sack of underperforming service chiefs.
The senate president made the remark after Borno North senator, Abubakar Kyari raised a point of order over the bloodbath of over 81 people in Gubio town, part of the area he represents.
“The Senate has passed several resolutions on the insecurity in the country with all stakeholders carried along, but the issue has persisted.”
“The stand of the Senate should be that people who have performed in office should be allowed to stay in such office.”
The is coming in advance of a meeting in between the management of both chambers of the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari and also the country’s service chiefs.
The federal government was similarly advised to release the armies as well as various other security agencies to boost personnel around the Lake Chad coasts.
