Speaking on the event, Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana, revealed that the case is under investigation in other to get to the root of the matter.
Bala added, “The investigation is continuous to decipher the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident. The Commissioner of Police condoles with the family and pals of the departed and calls for calm.
The statement reads; “Lagos State Police Command has on 20/5/2020 arrested Inspector Okoro Charles connected to Ikotun Division. The Inspector was jailed in connection with a shooting incident reported on 20/5/2020 at about 2205, along Obabiyi, Igando Road, Ikotun which led to the death of one Fatai Oladipupo’m’ 28 years old of Obabiyi location.”
An officer of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, has indeed landed in trouble over the death of an Islamic Cleric in the Lagos State.
Surgenig News learns that the officer whose name is given as Inspector Okoro Charles has been detained for having hand in a shooting that causes the death one Alfa Fatai Oladipo at Ikotun, a popular area in Lagos state.
Reports had it that the Inspector is currently undergoing orderly space trial over the awful occurrence which apparently occurred on Wednesday, May 20.
As contained in a statement provided to newsmen on Thursday evening, Okoro after the disciplinary procedure at the State Provost Department will be pressed forward to the State Criminal Examination Department Yaba for prosecution in conventional Court if condemned of the charges against him.
” The Inspector is subjected to internal disciplinary procedures, known as Orderly Space Trial at the State Provost Department and if found guilty, he will be turned over to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba for prosecution in traditional Court.
