The details of Thursday’s National Economic Council (NEC) meeting has been exposed by Boss Mustapha the Secretary to the Federal Government of the Federation (SGF).
Mustapha, who doubles as the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, recalled that the classifications of persons and services exempted from inter-state movement and curfew.
He listed them as medical workers, journalists, fire/emergency service workers, telecoms workers and bankers on responsibility.
The conference was chaired by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, which was the first ever teleconference.
Mustapha, in a statement explained that the concern of positioning of state level actions with the standards issued were discussed and emphasized in the conference.
” The Inspector General of Police has further clarified the classifications of essential employees in positioning with the standards and has actually issued instructions to security representatives to work on the authorized exemptions.”
” Similarly emphasized is the need for states to vigilantly carry out and implement compliance. Particularly, I highlighted the need for the Governors to supply individual and strong management, bring the policy of neighborhood ownership to the grass roots and develop much deeper awareness.
